Track iPhone Visits to YouTube Channel via Google Analytics?

I've had my Google Analytics account linked to my YouTube channel for some time now, but the one thing I can't seem to get data from is when a user visits my YouTube channel using their iPhone/Android YouTube app.

It will track it as a mobile visit if they open YouTube through the internet browser on their phone, but not the actual YouTube App. I've confirmed this by testing it on my own phone (with no filter to exclude the IP address).

Does anyone know if there's a way to do this? Perhaps I have my Google Analytics account set up incorrectly, or am missing something obvious?
