xCode Internet Connection Error within IOS Application

I have an issue I cannot seem to find online. I am running xCode 6.1.1 with IOS Simulator 8.

When I compile and run my application I am able to surf the simulators safari, maps etc, however when I am within my app a Connection Error is displayed.

The message is as follows " Connection Error, Unable to connect to the server. please check your internet connection.

I have 2 instances of this app one on my local machine and one on a live server, if I change my properties within my plist.urls file it does not connect to either of the servers.

I am still new to IOS dev, but for the life of me cannot figure this out.

I have tried downgrading from IOS8 to IOS7 with no success, Testing on different iPhones with different IOS versions to no avail.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
