Access the code of apps downloaded on iPhone?

Is it possible to access the code of the apps you download on your iphone? I imagine this would be very helpful for beginning programmers like me. I imagine the code is somewhere on my phone, but I'm not sure how I'd go about extracting it for Xcode.
